Services
Comprehensive Eye Exams
While tests will vary based on your doctor and your medical history, most comprehensive eye exams include the following:
DIAGNOSTIC TESTING:
- Visual Acuity to assess the sharpness of your vision, usually using the “Big E” or Snellen chart.
- Visual fields test, to determine if you have blind spots or peripheral vision issues.
- Cover Test, which can identify strabismus or binocular vision problems.
PRESCRIPTION TESTING:
- Retinoscopy, autorefractor or aberrometer, to approximate your eyeglass prescription.
- Refraction, to fine-tune the final eyeglass prescription using a phoropter.
- Slit Lamp exam to detect common eye diseases and conditions. The instrument allows your doctor to examine the structure of your eye to assess its health.
- Glaucoma test, known as tonometry, measures the pressure within your eye.
- Dilation of the pupil and ophthalmoscopy to examine the optic nerve, retina and blood vessels (optional).
Services
Medical Eye Exams
A medical eye exam produces a diagnosis, like conjunctivitis, dry eye, glaucoma or cataracts, to mention a few. Depending on your policy, your medical insurance may cover a medical exam, but not pay for the exam if it is a routine eye exam.
Examinations for medical eye care, assessment of an eye complaint, or to follow up on an existing medical condition are billed to your medical insurance plan.

Contact Lenses
After a comprehensive eye and vision evaluation, the doctor can discuss the variety of contact lens options with you to select the type that best fits your vision needs and lifestyle. All of our new fittings include the evaluation, trial lenses, sample cleaning solutions, and follow up evaluation.
After you decide which lenses work for you, a prescription for contacts will be finalized and a supply can be ordered.
